Ebensburg

This monument can be seen from far away, thanks in part to the tall obelisk in the center.  Standing vigil over the site is a bronze solider in a Civil War-era uniform.  Then, there are over 20 plaques with the names of our fallen Heroes around the base, from the Civil War to the Mexican War.  Another interesting fact is that this memorial  is right on the grounds of the Old Cambria County Prison from the 1870s, before they closed it and moved to another location.

Each month we will randomly highlight a War Memorial / Veterans Monument from Cambria County. Please view all the monuments and memorials by using the menu bar at the top of this page.
